We are indeed, holding you up in prayer. “God is God and we are not” is one of the oft quoted things from our Pastor Lynn Cheyney. Others include “God is in control and I am not” and “It is what it is”. I believe in the unequivocable power of intercessory prayer and I love your assessment of using the incorrect measuring devices. May I be open to all areas that I am applying the wrong measuring tools. May God’s infinite love continue to surround you and hold you and yours in ways that are beyond our finite imaginations! Wishing you strength, peace and joy this day, Judith

On the other hand, I truly believe that if anyone could make a cake with measuring tape and scissors, it would be you. Some lovely confection all sewn up and delicious…..

I would happily be in the army that gets to eat it, but in the meantime, I am happily, delightedly, and earnestly in the army that is behind you and yours.

As for Alfie. Hmmm. Definitely a dog that God meant just for the House of Ore, on account of he is a bit askew…the retriever in him has somehow become a giver. He brings you gifts of his own choosing, far more tasteful than human toys, in more ways than one, I am sure. Although I have never tasted a dog toy it is clear to me that Alfie loves his people and he will eventually break you of this one last vestige of bad taste.

And who knows? Maybe he feels his task to be like carrying wind in a bucket!

Love, and woofs,
Carolyn

We read your comments on prayers. It reminds me of one of Phil’s sayings or repeat of someone elde’s sayings, “if it makes one feel good, keep on doing it, it can’t hurt.” Although with Phil’s comic inflections it works better. Anyway regardles of research,we will keep you in our prayers. Barbara

I pledge that this week I will use the phrase, “Like carrying wind in a bucket” at least once!

I will also ponder my own judgements of situations and persons to see if my measuring system is like scissors and a measuring tape for determining the ingredients for cake.

Thank you for the really great words today!

Heidi

Science can’t explain everything! We know and believe the PRAYER CHANGES EVERYTHING! Sometimes it is the circumstances – othertimes it is how we react to those events! So…we continue to pray – to be a part of those that surround and support you and Charles!

We are in Arkansas – visiting Nathan and Crissy -spring is definitely here! We get to taste spring twice – since Michigan is a little on the “slow side” in spring things!

God’s blessings to you this day.
Love Irene
