What wonderful news! We rejoice with you here and thank the Lord! What more can be said!

Congratulations on your return to “the public!” We have been waiting! I’ll bet the garden will be a very special one indeed, this year!

With love and joy in Jesus,
Irene and Ivan

Kristi and I lift you and Charles up daily to our Lord in prayer, and have been filled with many special thoughts of you this Easter season! I’m new at the blog-response, but was so encouraged by your report today that I wanted to send you a note!

As you well know, Easter hymns energize the mind and soul with awesome combinations of word and music. Three such combinations have made me think of you this Easter, each memorized and imprinted in my mind through the efforts of three Concordia composers.

“He lives to silence all my fears,
He lives to wipe away my tears,
He lives to calm my troubled heart,
He lives all blessings to impart.”
(stanza four of “I Know that My Redeemer Lives,” memorable setting by Kurt Von Kampen—with cool text painting as a moving alto part wipes away tears…)

“Now no more can death appall,
Now no more the grave enthrall,
You have opened paradise,
And your saints with you shall rise. Alleluia!”
(stanza six of “At the Lamb’s High Feast We Sing,” memorable setting by Charles Ore—with a joy-filled countermelody and the incorporation of “O Morning Star,” another favorite!)

“Oh, fill us, Lord, with dauntless love;
Set heart and will on things above
That we conquer through your triumph;
Grant grace sufficient for life’s day
That by our lives we truly say:
‘Christ has triumphed! He is living!’
Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!”
(stanza three of “Now All the Vault of Heaven Resounds,” memorable setting by Jeffrey Blersch for the 2004 National Youth Gathering—stanza three is an unaccompanied choir verse that features a dramatic interpretation of the text “Grant grace sufficient for life’s day that by our lives we truly say [with big crescendo and high voices]: ‘Christ has triumphed…’)

I pray that Christ will continue to fill you with His peace as he accomplishes all of these things in your life!

By our lives may we truly say: “Christ has triumphed! He is living!”

We love y’all very much,

Jim and Kristi Marriott

So glad to hear the positive news! Garden work and getting outside in this wonderful spring air will refresh and uplift you.

Tell Charles that I enjoyed listening to his organ CDs over Easter weekend. I need to order the entire set….So, of course, I thought of both of you on Easter Sunday and sent a little prayer your way.

Blessings,
Mindy
