By the time I read this, I assume you are finished with paying the “toll” this time around. Heidi is such a wise and caring daughter….so good she can remind you of the good that has come from this..autumn is just around the corner. I pray that you will begin to feel better as each day progresses, without further treatment.

The apples here are ripening on the trees and they branches are laden with the beautiful fruit! Ah, fall in Michigan! School starts for Ivan on Tuesday…one more day of “vacation” before the kids arrive. He is so excited to be teaching this year…what a difference a year makes!

God’s peace, love, and joy surround you tonight and through the coming week.

Love, Irene

Thank you for calling me! I am thankful that you found my words helpful.

A hero is no braver than an ordinary man, but he is braver five minutes longer.
Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803 – 1882)

I was telling the girls that grandma pat (jon’s mom) went canoeing down the niobrara river and that she was a quite an adventurer! Zoie said, “my grandma pat?” I said “yes” she said, “Grandma Connie is the great adventurer – she battles cancer” – I said, “so she is.”

I don’t tell the girls everything but they get the point of it anyway. Thank you for hanging in there “5 minutes longer”

Love Heidi
